Computer Fluency

Being Fluent with Information Technology. From the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board, this book from the National Research Council discusses the needs for responsible citizens to have contemporary skills (the ability to use today's software), foundational concepts (basic priniciples and ideas behind computers and networks) and intellectual capabilities (ability to apply information technology in complex and sustained situations and when appropriate think in the context of information technology). Well thought out, an excellent resource for anyone planning to teach about computers or informatics. The concepts could easily be applied to using a system. (Added October 18, 2010)
